“The tropical landscape has always been a source of inspiration in my artistic journey. In this work, I celebrate the pineapple not only as a symbol of prosperity but also as an icon of Malaysia's rich natural abundance. Draped with a batik cloth, the fruit becomes a meeting point between nature and cultural heritage, where traditional craftsmanship and tropical beauty coexist in harmony. Through the interplay of sunlight, vibrant colours, and transparent layers of watercolour, I hope to express the warmth, optimism, and cultural diversity that define life in the tropics. This painting is my tribute to the beauty that surrounds us and the heritage that continues to inspire my creative journey.”
