Who we are

Art & Lifestyle Gallery is an international contemporary gallery based in Petaling Jaya, representing established and emerging artists across Malaysia and the region. Our programme spans exhibitions, private viewings, publications and community events.

Current openings

We are currently hiring for the two positions below. If either sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

1. Marketing Internship

  • Allowance: RM500 per month
  • Working days: Monday to Friday
  • Working hours: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: Art & Lifestyle Gallery, Petaling Jaya

What you'll do:

  • Manage the gallery's social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Plan and produce content — captions, posts, stories and reels
  • Shoot and edit short videos of artworks, artists and gallery events
  • Support marketing campaigns for exhibitions and events
  • Track engagement and help grow our online community
  • Help update and maintain the gallery website — artworks, artists, events and news
  • Design posters, e-flyers and simple print collateral for exhibitions and events
  • Assist with photography of artworks and gallery spaces for online and print use
  • Help prepare newsletters and email campaigns to collectors and subscribers
  • Support basic SEO and copywriting for the website and social platforms

You are:

  • A student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, media or design
  • Comfortable creating content and filming with a phone or camera
  • Creative, self-motivated, and interested in art and culture
  • Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, CapCut or similar tools

2. Internship — Gallery Secretary cum Personal Assistant

  • Allowance: RM500 per month
  • Working hours: 40 hours per week
  • Reports to: Curator
  • Location: Art & Lifestyle Gallery, Petaling Jaya

What you'll do:

  • Assist the curator with event management — exhibitions, openings and private viewings
  • Manage the curator's calendar, meetings, appointments and travel arrangements
  • Act as personal assistant to the curator — handle correspondence, reminders and errands
  • Handle day-to-day administrative work — emails, filing, records and reports
  • Coordinate with artists, clients and vendors
  • Willing to travel locally for meetings, art fairs, collections and deliveries
  • Oversee gallery cleanliness and presentation — ensure the space is always visitor-ready
  • Manage artwork insurance paperwork, condition reports and documentation
  • Coordinate packing, shipping and delivery of artworks to buyers and exhibitions
  • Liaise with buyers and collectors — invoicing, payment follow-ups and after-sales care
  • Support general gallery operations as needed

You are:

  • Organised, detail-oriented and reliable
  • A clear communicator, comfortable with people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Interested in the arts; bilingual (English + Mandarin or Malay) preferred
