Artist Statement
“Balance is never still. In this work a durian — thorned without, tender within — settles on a stone worn smooth by time. The dark, atmospheric ground dissolves the boundary between the everyday and the infinite, inviting the viewer to sense the quiet equilibrium held between weight and lightness, roughness and sweetness.”
