I learned drawing with my sisters at Boya Art Centre in Jalan Melayu, Klang, during primary school. I won a consolation prize in the Buncho National Art Competition in 1989, but stopped learning drawing when I started secondary school.
In 1992, in Junior Middle 3, my school art teacher 謝金聰老師 introduced me to Angelo Chia to continue learning drawing after school. Under his guidance, I achieved an A1 in art in the UEC.
I stopped drawing thereafter until my third year of medical school, when I joined the medical school drawing competition on impulse and won fourth place.
The fire went down again until I met Angelo Chia with Boon Hui at his first solo exhibition in Petaling Jaya in 2025. I was deeply impressed by his perseverance and love for art. The colours and figures in his paintings rekindled my longing for art. So here I am, presenting myself in a different profession: a painter.
